E adesso un castello…

[it]Purtroppo a Sopron sono in corso dei lavori molto estesi, che non permettono di godere di quello che, a detta di molti, é uno dei centri storici piú belli dell’Ungheria.
Ma anche in questo caso é solo la mia base di partenza per la meta che mi ero prefissato: il castello di Fertőd.
La Versailles ungherese, come lo chiamano qui, é il castello barocco piú grande del paese, contornato dal giardino; alla francese, ovviamente. Haydn vi trascorse dieci anni, componendo ed organizzando concerti.
Durante la seconda guerra mondiale l’edificio subí gravi danni e venne depredato, ma in seguito é stato restaurato anche negli interni.

Ed infine… chi é lo Re?

Unfortunately in Sopron there are very extensive works, which don`t not allow you to enjoy what, according to many, is one of the most beautiful old towns in Hungary.
But even in this case is just my starting point for the goal that I set: Fertőd castle.
The hungarian Versailles, as it is called here, is the largest baroque castle in the country, surrounded by gardens, of french style, of course. Haydn spent ten years composing and organizing concerts here.
During the Second World War the building suffered severe damages and was looted, but it was later restored even in the interior.
